Dear reader,
Thank you for joining the Arkansas Times community. I’m so glad you’re here, and looking forward to what we’re going to do together.
I launched the Arkansas Times in 1974 as the Union Station Times, a slim 8-by-10 1/2-inch newsprint bi-monthly. I wanted to see more investigative reporting in print. At the time, Little Rock had two daily newspapers, but neither dug into the issues or held power to account. Since then, Arkansas Times has gone from newsprint bimonthly to slick magazine to weekly tabloid and back to a magazine, with an online presence starting in the mid-1990s.
The format never mattered. We’re more than a paper, we’re a mission. We’re here to serve Arkansas residents with reliable, honest news that holds power to account and is a voice for the voiceless. And we want you to have fun, too, so we spotlight the best restaurants, bars, businesses and events.
In print, audio and video, here’s where you can see that mission in action:
Arkansas Blog for news, politics and analysis
Our podcasts give you another way to stay informed
Eat Arkansas feeds your craving for innovative eats and drinks
Rock Candy finds you the best in Arkansas culture, lifestyle and events
Cannabiz keeps you abreast of one of the state’s fastest growing industries
Engage with editor Max Brantley during his daily Facebook video updates
Once again, thanks for joining. We hope you appreciate the work and consider supporting it with a subscription.
Thank you so much,
