Dear Reader,
Today we’re kicking off our most important fundraising campaign of the year. Thanks to the generosity of national foundations and local donors, individual contributions up to $1,000 can be matched dollar-for-dollar through a campaign called NewsMatch. You can make a one-time gift or a recurring monthly donation to be eligible for the match. All new recurring monthly donations can be matched at their annual value. So if you start a new $25 monthly gift, it can be eligible for a $300 match.
And the first $4,000 in donations today are eligible for a double match, thanks to the Knight Foundation and the Heising-Simons Foundation, which are supporting news organizations like El Paso Matters that prioritize coverage of communities of color. So your $25 recurring monthly donation can be eligible for a $600 match if you act quickly.
Start my $25 monthly gift today!
In the past year, our journalists have provided unmatched information about important elections, troubles in the District Attorney’s Office, tax proposals by local governments, and a shortage of life-saving Narcan for El Paso police officers. Our reporting brought important changes, and provided El Pasoans with information they needed to hold public officials accountable. We also told stories of unique El Paso success stories like basketball Hall of Famer Tim Hardaway and political pioneer Alicia Chacón.
Double your impact – donate to El Paso Matters!
With gratitude,
Robert Moore
